“Like You And Me” by L. K. Thayer

cotton candy hair
so spare
as the ghost
clings to her

her nightingale
whispers
of longing and rust
corrode her
corridors and hallways
of forget-me-not
bouquets

chime in to

the melody
of melancholy
that seeps through the
cracks that she keeps
a vase of flowers over
to cover

so nobody
sees

she’s just like
you and me

Feeling ghostlike and looking for something, ANYTHING, to cover my butt-naked humanity…I read Your words and my heart feels a little heavier and lighter all at the same time. I seriously don’t know whether to laugh or cry. You’re amazing. God Bless the poets of the world. Lord! Namaste. 🙂
