“Frozen” by L. K. Thayer

I am blue
in a pink paisley
playground
I have run amok
and I am
run
down
I’m a high rise
with lots of
short
stories
and
I want out of
this cheap suit
that no
longer
suits me

I’m tired of this
thin fabrication
unraveling
and hiding
like lint
in my navel

my wind shield
needs
washing
my leverage is
slipping
and the wolf is
snarling
at my heels

my mind is in
shrink wrap
groping for
zip-lock
at a
Tupperware
party

my freshness
is
frozen
and winter
is

falling
