“December on Canyon Road” by Lori Romero

Lori Romero

Buddha in the backyard
sits in old snow, worn
stories in his generous lap.

Lights genuflect, ripen
around faralitos. I carry Santa Fe
in my mouth—a luminous language,
amplified between forefinger and thumb.
