“Tales of the 10th Commandment” by Alexis Rhone Fancher

At 17 she
jumped on the
back of a
Harley,
smiled for the
journalist &
flash! sheʼs on the
cover of Newsweek.

So jealous.

Parlayed that into a
role on a hit
sitcom about a
mid-west radio station,
where she
met the sexy
TV star
who divorced his wife/left his
son
for her.
Talk about a run of luck!

Fast-forward to 2007,
when he left her for that
singer & the cops found her
driving
crazy-naked in the
desert.

So not jealous.

F/FW 2011……..He came home to an empty house she left him for the drummer….He never did ride that bike after his stroke. Fed by a tube he hardly smiled at Easy Rider on the tv… She plays cards drinking gin peeing in her chair….. The bike is on ebay today and the next ride is not that far away!!!

Love the way you capture life in the fast lane Alexis

Good one Alexis! all this fantasy meeting reality then meeting something like — dare I say it — karma!!!!!

You put the new year in perspective, in a paradox.

I don’t like luck except on the freeways.

    Muse us again, soon!!!

    Alexis,
You sure know how to swing those words over the mountains, over the seas, over the desert, over the whole damn world.
    What a woman!!!!!
    Love you,
    Roz

As a fellow student at Taft I had a crush on Jan Smithers. But no need to be envious. I had a crush on you too.

    Very cool poem.

But, wait! Didn’t they make a movie of her so-called life?!

Better we should covet that which feeds our highest spirit than our basest desires….then again, basest desires fulfilled sometimes engender the highest spirits! 🙂

Bravo, Alexis, for a sparkling New Year’s work…..

We can all relate. That’s what makes a great poem.
