for listening to all my
moaning/groaning and don’t wanna-wanna
the grind can make you forget-just how fun life can be.
some poems don’t require introductions
they show up
from behind the eyelid
between black white tears
they don’t beg
or push
they come
fierce
fluid
forgiving
like
the life friends
who always seems to walk in/side by side our words
some poems be that badass
and sometimes
i can’t seem to tell the difference
between friendship and poetry
so forgive me friend in advance
if i ever introduce you as poem
or i apologize to poetry if i mistake it as a friend
but I’m so sure
forgiveness is redundant
and introductions are never required.

Shameka, what a great rhythm to this poem! It looks terrific on the page, too. Welcome aboard to this site. I hope to see many more of your poem/friends here.
