“Peel Me A Grape” ……… (sneaky Brit!)

Snapped by Mitch Hicks!

Don’t try to fool me bejewel me
Either amuse me or lose me
I’m getting hungry, peel me a grape

Pop me a cork, french me a fry
Crack me a nut, bring a bowl full of bon-bons
Chill me some wine, keep standing by
Just entertain me, champagne me
Show me you love me, kid glove me
Best way to cheer me, cashmere me
I’m getting hungry, peel me grape

Here’s how to be an agreeable chap
Love me and leave me in luxury’s lap
Hop when I holler, skip when I snap
When I say, ’do it,’ jump to it

Send out for scotch, call me a cab
Cut me a rose, make my tea with the petals
Just hang around, pick up the tab
Never out think me, just mink me
Polar bear rug me, don’t bug me
New thunderbird me, you heard me
I’m getting hungry, peel me a grape

“I Heard It Through The Grapevine”

oh, I bet you’re wond’rin’ how I knew
’bout your plans to make me blue
With some other guy you knew before
Between the two of us guys you know I love you more
It took me by surprise I must say
When I found out yesterday
Dontcha know that I

Heard it through the grapevine
Not much longer would you be mine
Oh I heard it through the grapevine
Oh I’m just about to lose my mind
Honey, honey yeah
(Heard it through the grapevine)
(Not much longer would you be my baby, ooh, ooh, ooh)

I know a man ain’t supposed to cry
But these tears I can’t hold inside
Losin’ you would end my life you see
’cause you mean that much to me
You could have told me yourself
That you love someone else
Instead I

Heard it through the grapevine
Not much longer would you be mine
Oh I heard it through the grapevine
And I’m just about to lose my mind
Honey, honey yeah
(Heard it through the grapevine)
(Not much longer would you be my baby, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)

People say believe half of what you see
Son, and none of what you hear
But I can’t help bein’ confused
If it’s true please tell me dear
Do you plan to let me go
For the other guy you loved before?
Dontcha know I

Heard it through the grapevine
Not much longer would you be mine
Baby I heard it through the grapevine
Ooh I’m just about to lose my mind
Honey, honey yeah
(Heard it through the grapevine)
(Not much longer would you be my baby, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

Honey, honey, I know
That you’re lettin’ me go
Said I heard it through the grapevine

“I Love The Way You Lie” by Eminem

Just gonna stand there
And watch me burn
But that’s alright
Because I like
The way it hurts
Just gonna stand there
And hear me cry
But that’s alright
Because I love
The way you lie
I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie

I can’t tell you what it really is
I can only tell you what it feels like
And right now there’s a steel knife
In my windpipe
I can’t breathe
But I still fight
While I can fight
As long as the wrong feels right
It’s like I’m in flight
High of a love
Drunk from the hate
It’s like I’m huffing paint
And I love it the more that I suffer
I sufficate
And right before im about to drown
She resuscitates me
She fucking hates me
And I love it
Wait
Where you going
I’m leaving you
No you ain’t
Come back
We’re running right back
Here we go again
It’s so insane
Cause when it’s going good
It’s going great
I’m Superman
With the wind in his bag
She’s Lois Lane
But when it’s bad
It’s awful
I feel so ashamed
I snap
Who’s that dude
I don’t even know his name
I laid hands on her
I’ll never stoop so low again
I guess I don’t know my own strength

You ever love somebody so much
You can barely breathe
When you’re with them
You meet
And neither one of you
Even know what hit ’em
Got that warm fuzzy feeling
Yeah them chills
Used to get ’em
Now you’re getting fucking sick
Of looking at ’em
You swore you’ve never hit ’em
Never do nothing to hurt ’em
Now you’re in each other’s face
Spewing venom
And these words
When you spit ’em
You push
Pull each other’s hair
Scratch, claw, bit ’em
Throw ’em downPin ’em
So lost in the moments
When you’re in ’em
It’s the rage that took over
It controls you both
So they say it’s best
To go your separate ways
Guess that they don’t know ya
Cause today
That was yesterday
Yesterday is over
It’s a different day
Sound like broken records
Playin’ over
But you promised her
Next time you’ll show restraint
You don’t get another chance
Life is no Nintendo game
But you lied again
Now you get to watch her leave
Out the window
Guess that’s why they call it window pane

It wasn’t you
Baby it was me
Maybe our relationship
Isn’t as crazy as it seems
Maybe that’s what happens
When a tornado meets a volcano
All I know is
I love you too much
To walk away though
Come inside
Pick up your bags off the sidewalk
Don’t you hear sincerity
In my voice when I talk
Told you this is my fault
Look me in the eyeball
Next time I’m pissed
I’ll aim my fist
At the dry wall
Next time
There will be no next time
I apologize
Even though I know it’s lies
I’m tired of the games
I just want her back
I know I’m a liar
If she ever tries to fucking leave again
I’mma tie her to the bed
And set the house on fire

Just gonna stand there
And watch me burn
But that’s alright
Because I like
The way it hurts
Just gonna stand there
And hear me cry
But that’s alright
Because I love
The way you lie
I love the way you lie
I love the way you lie

Lyics from his new record “Recovery”

“THE PRICE” by Stephen Kalinich

he picks up his guitar
puts his keys upon the table
starts playing chords he never played before
the mood is right and everyone starts dancing
and he throws down a few beers
before you know
his eyes are blurry
and he stumbles for the door
and never makes it
wakes up at 5 Am
and every body’s gone
and he cant find his keys
so what is he going to tell his mother

who is waiting in the kitchen over
there in Colorado
that he cant hold his liquor
and he is still a boy of 17
that wants to be all grownup
Well he comes home
and his mom says

maybe you should start paying your own bills
in the meantime
milk the cows
and do the dishes
before your dad gets home.
He heads out the door

and turns on the ignition
as he heads for California
and he’s never coming back
His boots are black and shiny
and he has a big tattoo
on his right arm
and his back.
He crashes into someone
and now he’s in a coma
and one second can make
such a difference in a life.
I do not know the answer
or have a quick solution
if there is a morale
make the conclusion for yourself.
Make your decisions wisely

and never drink and drive
he’ll be lucky
if he gets out of this alive.
If this songs a little morbid
it happens every single day
if you want to be a grown up
there a price to pay.

John Lennon “Strawberry Fields”

http://photoallan.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/john-lennon.jpg

Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry Fields forever.

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
It’s getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn’t matter much to me.
Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry Fields forever.

No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low.
That is you can’t you know tune in but it’s all right, that is I think it’s not too bad.
Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry Fields forever.

Always, no sometimes, think it’s me, but you know I know when it’s a dream.
I think I know I mean a ‘Yes’ but it’s all wrong, that is I think I disagree.
Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry Fields forever.
Strawberry Fields forever.

“Haves And Have-Nots” by Joshua Grapes

Have a curse
For a night stuck in traffic
Have a kiss
For the vows that you made
Have a kid
For the stuff in your attic
Have a clock
To count down the decade

Have a nook
You can fill up with quarters
Have a notice
To cease and desist
Have a knack
For just following orders
Have a notion
You might not exist

Have a palm
You can read to find something
Have a past
You find time to forget
Have partitions
To map out your boundaries
Have protection
Against your regrets

Have a sense
Of the coming disaster
Have a script
That’ll tell you your lines
Have a secret
And say that it matters
Have a semblance
Of having a life

“(My Heart Is) Black & Blue” by L. K. Thayer

Lately it’s been rough
Instead of upbeat
I’m feelin’ beat up
My heart is black & blue
Over you
My heart is black & blue
Over you

Is it true
What I hear
You’re seein’ somebody else
That’s what I fear
My heart is black & blue
My heart is black & blue

Black & blue from the lack of love
I’m hurtin’ & it’s you I’m thinkin’ of
My heart is black & blue

Over you, I can’t get over

From this love, I can’t seem to recover

My heart is black & blue (repeat)

I’m black & blue
I’m black & blue

I’m black & blue

“Strange Fruit” – Billie Holiday

Billie Holiday

Strange Fruit

by Lewis Allen

Southern trees bear strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.

Pastoral scene of the gallant south,
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,

Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh,
Then the sudden smell of burning flesh.

Here is fruit for the crows to pluck,
For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck,

For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop,
Here is a strange and bitter crop.

“Somebody once said we never know what is enough

until we know what’s more than enough.”

– Billie Holiday
