“I am addicted to writing.” – Prince

When Doves Cry

Dig if U will the picture
Of U and I engaged in a kiss
The sweat of your body covers me

Can U my darling
Can U picture this?Dream if U can a courtyard
An ocean of violets in bloom
Animals strike curious poses
They feel the heat
The heat between me and UHow can U just leave me standing
Alone in a world that’s so cold? (So cold)
Maybe I’m just 2 demanding
Maybe I’m just like my father – 2 bold
Maybe U’re just like my mother
She’s never satisfied (She’s never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other?
This is what it sounds like when doves cryTouch if U will my stomach
Feel how it trembles inside
U’ve got the butterflies all tied up
Don’t make me chase U
Even doves have pride

How could U just leave me standing
Alone in a world so cold? (World so cold)
Maybe I’m just 2 demanding
Maybe I’m just like my father – 2 bold
Maybe U’re just like my mother
She’s never satisfied (She’s never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other?
This is what it sounds like when doves cry

How can U just leave me standing
Alone in a world that’s so cold? (A world that’s so cold)
Maybe I’m just 2 demanding (Maybe, maybe I’m like my father)
Maybe I’m just like my father – 2 bold (U know, U know he’s 2 bold)
Maybe U’re just like my mother (Maybe U’re just like my mother)
She’s never satisfied (She’s never, never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other? (Why do we scream? Why?)
This is what it sounds like when doves cry
When doves cry (When doves cry) (When doves cry) {x2}
Don’t cry (Don’t cry)

Oh yeah {x6}
When doves cry {x3}
Babe! {x6}

When doves cry (Doves cry, doves cry, doves cry)
When?when?
Don’t cry
Darling, don’t cry
Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t, don’t cry

L.K. Thayer Reviews  SHE POEMS by Mike Meraz

Meraz is a less is more poet. His women have the power

and he lets you feel where he has been punched.

There is no excess in his writing, just below the belt truth.

Meraz takes you into cinematic short films of his love life and

as the leading man,  he makes you care about what happens to him.

SHE POEMS is inspiring, provocative and profound in it’s complex

simplicity. His style is cunning and addictive and after each poem

all you want is more. – L. K. Thayer

Plug yourself into the electric present moment jukebox, sing yourself into the total sensurround sounds of now. Wash your hair with sudsy, bubbly playgrounds of wow; give your scalp a good laugh. Imitate a ringing phone; see how long it takes for someone to pick you up. Allow music, merriment & the moon to always find you, no matter how far you may sometimes fall inside yourself. Spread some traffic jam on a piece of toast; take a bite, swallow it without an ounce of road rage as a chaser. Sit peacefully with your hands on life’s steering wheel. Rest assured your heart is your copilot.

Fruit for Thought…

“The seasonal urge is strong in poets. Milton wrote chiefly in winter. Keats looked for spring to wake him up (as it did in the miraculous months of April and May, 1819). Burns chose autumn. Longfellow liked the month of September. Shelley flourished in the hot months. Some poets, like Wordsworth, have gone outdoors to work. Others, like Auden, keep to the curtained room. Schiller needed the smell of rotten apples about him to make a poem. Tennyson and Walter de la Mare had to smoke. Auden drinks lots of tea, Spender coffee; Hart Crane drank alcohol. Pope, Byron, and William Morris were creative late at night. And so it goes.”

Moves
